Jay Swope

As a student i remember having Mr.Jay Swope as a science teacher at the Hershey Junior High School way back in 1977..He always had a smile on his face a good sense of humor and always helped his students. My condolences to Mr. Swopes family members...

Mr. Swope was one of my all time favorite teachers in Hershey. He had a great sense of humor and made every student feel important. I´m sure he touched many lives in a very positive and memorable way. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends in the loss of a very good man. RIP Mr. Swope.

It was in Mr. Swope's 7th grade class that I realized I wanted to be a math teacher. So, thanks in large part to his example, I had a rewarding career. His sparkling humor, use of personal anecdotes to make concepts memorable, and encouragement of my math interests that went beyond our text were, I believe, important influences for my own 35 years of teaching and encouraging math students. Thanks, Mr. Swope!

My favorite junior high teacher. Rest in peace. Always had a smile. He and Fern shared their Villages home and meals with us (wife Toni and I) on the occasions when we visited there on vacation. I miss his humorous emails.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Swope. He was my math teacher and you both were good friends to my family, the Backenstose's. May you have the love of family around you to get you through each day. Diane

Rest In Peace Mr. Swope. A good teacher and good friend. Many good memories working as Golf Manager with him at Hershey High.
