Dr, Kerbow was a fine, gentle, accepting, and encouraging soul. He gave and gave of himself and his knowledge. I was lucky to have had him for a teacher.

As a friend of Alans in 1970 at Frostburg my family knew the Kerbows as my father and he taught at Frostburg State College as it was known at that time. Jay taught me how to pan broil steaks- "French style' which I still do today! Hey Alan! Remember the good times with Pink Floyd?!

Dr. Kerbow was one of the nicest professors I ever met. Although I was a math major, I took two French classes which Dr. Kerbow taught. He greatly appreciated my interest in his classes, and I will never forget him.

I met Dottie and Jay in 1972 in the McGovern campaign. I was in high school and Dottie and Jay seemed so wise and interesting. They were my lifelong friends, and even though the shade of Alzheimer's descended over Jay, my thoughts and wishes were for his well-being. He had a rich life, and I was fascinated with his life, Phi Beta Kappa at Yale and, in a conservative area, a reasonable political viewpoint. I spent many good times with my friends Dottie and Jay, and they will be deeply...

Jay and Dottie were long time friends of my folks. They knew me, even before I knew me!They were always so kind and welcoming to me, my sisters, and my parents. We spent many long, relaxed Sunday afternoons at their Milton house. They, and my Dad, had many interesting and lively visits, while my sisters and I admired, and were entertained by, Christina! I remember we would always stop and get a bottle of wine to take to them and they graciously welcomed us with hugs and kisses. I am thankful...

I have known Dottie and Jay since our days at Frostburg. Jay was one of the most kind, sincere, and perceptive individuals I have ever met. Both Bonnie and I have many fond memories of our visits with both Dottie and Jay and we will miss them both. Our condolences to Chris, Alan, Courtney and the rest of the family. We are sorry we can't join you for the service but we will be there in spirit. Our thoughts are with you.

Jay at one of our meetings in 2006.
Jay and Dottie were so instrumental to our Park Cities/Central Dallas Democratic Club. We enjoyed and benefited from their contributions. They were a hoot at lunch afterwards.
