Elder J. C. Bryant, 79, of Camden, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004. He was a member and former pastor of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church of Stephens.

He is preceded in death by one grandchild. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Betty Jean Bryant of Camden; two sons, Jimmy Bryant and wife, Betty and Roger Bryant and wife, Ann all of Camden; daughter, Dianne Johnson and husband, David of Roland, OK; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pete Bryant of Hampton and Pat Bryant of Fordyce; and sister, Jo Ida Roberts of Camden.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church with burial in McCoy Cemetery in New Edinburg. Rev. David O. Johnson, Rev. Jewel Duncan, Rev. Willie Knight, and Rev. Ronnie C. Wilson will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dear Aunt Betty, Jimmy, Roger & Dianne, I can't tell you how deeply I feel Uncle J's loss, but I know it is no where close to your feelings. He was a great Man of God and I always respected him for that. He was a marvelous uncle and family man. He will never be replaced but just imagine how sweet Easter in Heaven will be tomorrow. I send my love to each of you and let me know if there is anything I can do for any of you!!
