Jean Peyton Bertier Agnew



Wednesday January 7, 2009 Jean Peyton Bertier Agnew, of Montclair passed away from long term illness at an undisclosed age of 25*?+X. As she's stated humorously, "I've lied about it so much, I've forgotten myself."

Mrs. Agnew was born in Alexandria, Va. and lived all of her life in Northern Virginia and leaves her husband Robert "Bob"; daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Britt, of Montclair and two sisters, Zoe Parker and Mary Ellen Trowbridge (Cappy) both of Florida. Many loving nieces and nephews (Cheryl Sutton and Buck Sutton, of Fredericksburg, Va.)

She was preceded in death by her son, Gerry W. Bertier known from "Remember the Titans" #42, brother, Hugh (Hazel) Peyton, sisters, Winifred Breedlove, Audrey Harvey and Gloria Jones.

The family will receive friends at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, Virginia 22193 on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Margaret's Anglican Church, 13900 Church Hill Drive, Woodbridge, Va., Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 10 a.m. Interment immediately following service at Mount Comfort Cemetery.

Mrs. Agnew preferred that Contributions be made to the Gerry Bertier #42 Foundation, P.O. Box 1570, Manassas, VA 20108. Arrangements by Mountcastle Funeral Home.

My deepest and sincerest condolences in the passing of Ms. Jean. She was a wonderful lady and so special to me in so many ways. I am really going to miss her. All my prayers to Bob and Becky as well as all of the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad time. Jean was a special lady and you are blessed to have had her in your lives. I pray you can take comfort in the fond memories you have to treasure.
