Please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother, friend and mentor. Jean was an exceptional professor when I took her internship class in Women's Studies at Douglass College in the 1970's. I recall her passion, intelligence and her interest in each woman in the class. I was very involved with the feminist movement at the time and doing a legislative internship and she connected me with senator at the time. We reconnected a couple of times over the years at Rutgers. Jean made an...

I very much enjoyed interacting with Jean in NOW in the 1970s and later when she was at Rutgers Newark. Very sorry to hear about this.
In NOW we shared common interests and goals about women's education and sports and worked on getting Title IX implemented in the Union County (Jean) and Essex County (me) school systems.

I am soooo sorry! Jean was a good friend and an important mentor. We worked together on the NOW Education Task Force in the early 70s, and then continued to work together at Douglass and Rutgers. Our friendship continued even after we both retired, and we would meet to attend events together. I will miss her very much. She was one of the most significant people in my feminist journey. If you plan a memorial event, please let me know.

Jean was a wonderful, feisty woman, questioning the establishment with her facts straight. She was a fellow commissioner, Franklin Twp. Historical Preservation Advisory Commission, and was a dynamite member. I'll miss her. And others will as well.

So sorry for your loss. What a good long life Jean enjoyed. So many cannot say the same. She was one of those the Bible call especially strong. Ps. 90:10

I first met Jean through the Franklin Historic Preservation Advisory Commission. She added wit, wisdom and knowledge in areas that added significantly to the work of the commission.
More than that she was a strong feminist who actually met my hero, Alice Paul.
We enjoyed an occasional lunch together. I will miss her.
