Jean Amling was born on July 2, 1928 in Des Plaines to George and Alice (nee Cowlin) Class. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in Walworth, WI.



In 1948 she married the love of her life, Victor. He was her best friend and partner in life?s adventures. She loved to travel, was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed gardening and photography. Her greatest joys were her faith and her family.



Jean is survived by her children, David (Donna) Amling, Susan (Stephen) Hahn, and Sally (David) Lewis; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Michael, Jeannine (Brian) Engh, Elizabeth (Sean) Tassi, Laura Hahn, Christopher (Melissa) Amling, Sarah (Dan) Brashear, Emily (Marcus) Kapteyn, and Christina Hahn; nine great grandchildren; her sister, Janet (the late Roger) Davies and her cousin Mary Alice (the late Roger) Neitzke.



She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor P. Amling; and her parents.



Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm, Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. The family will be receiving guests from 9:30 am until time of funeral service at 10:30 am, Monday, November 16, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson St., Marengo, IL 60152. Interment will be at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines.
