Not sure what to say?

My Father Charles Stephen Donchatz spoke of you often and fondly as a childhood friend. One of your book references him as well as dedicates to his memory along with other buddies. She was a shining star for that world which is no more. Her writing will endear McDowell County to the world making that moment in time endless.

You were my favorite teacher who had such an impact on me. I will always be grateful to you and think of you with immense gratitude. Thank you Ms Battlo for being you. Until we meet again. Rest now Jean, you lived a full life

I had the good fortune to travel with Jean from the first grade through Marshall. She and others of our generation were the recipients of an excellent education and the encouragement to continue to learn. I also had the good fortune to see some of her work off Broadway. My family members speak today of our good fortune being born and raised in Kimball. We always will be Kimball Kids. VR: /jdm/

I worked with Jean on a play she wrote. She needed the Sid Hatfield footage inthe National Archive. I was truly impressed by ger great intellect and energy. Steve Fesenmaier, retired, WV State Film Librarian, WV Library Commission 1978-2010
