Not sure what to say?

Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us.

I was fortunate to have Ms. Cione as my Anatomy and Physiology instructor at Eastern Michigan University in the mid 70's. Everyone was afraid to take her class because she expected so much out of her students. I learned alot from her and that class. I know all of her students appreciated the way she taught. We figured if we got a B or C in her class that it was an A in anyone else's class. I would like to send prayers to her family and thank her for what she had done for me.

Induction into Italian American Sports Hall of Fame

I too am one of "Miss Cione's" EMU PE Major students from the class of 65. What a great lady and what an inspiration she was to all of us. I am glad I had the pleasure of knowing her and she is remembered fondly. My condolences to the family.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Jean Cione will be remembered as a great teacher who I had the privilege of having in the 60's. Easy to talk to , kind, great sense of humor, and very understanding. Prayers and condolences are extended to friends and family of such a delightful woman. Gloria M. Conn, Allen Park, Michigan

I remember fondly having Jean Cione for a basketball coach and bowling instructor at Eastern Michigan in the 1963-65 timeframe. She was easy to talk to (except when I wanted to keep throwing a straight ball and she wanted to teach me the hook) and all our class ('65') really liked her. We never knew, while we were her students, that she had played professional baseball. Through my Marine connections, I became friends with one of the chaperones from the AAGPBL who had known and liked Jean,...

Dear Linda,

Condolences on the death of your sister from a VERY old friend. She was so much older than we, that my memories are faded. However, she was surely a unique person – especially in the women’s movement! I visited 7th Avenue recently. It brought back so many memories – including the Peaches.

I’ve thought of you often.

Our family has had the privilege of being Jean's neighbor for the past 14 years. We are profoundly saddened to learn of her passing but are grateful she is now pain-free and at peace in God's loving embrace. Our prayers are with Ginny and the rest of Jean's family. Jean, you will truly be missed.
