One of the last few times I saw Aunt Jean, my husband Brandon and I were visiting Maine from the Buffalo, NY area. A severe winter storm, called 'The October Surprise' had struck just before we left, leaving our home without power and making it necessary to bring my pet snakes along with us to keep them warm.
