George L Doherty Funeral Service, Inc - Somerville Obituary

Jean M. (Chromey) Curtin of Somerville and Medford, passed into eternal life on February 26, 2021. Beloved wife for 63 years of the late Mickey Curtin. Cherished and devoted mother of Patricia Courtney of Somerville, Maureen Amaral of Stoneham, and Michael Curtin of Medford. Loving grandmother to Lindsay Hart, Richard Courtney, and Olivia Amaral, great-grandmother to Braedyn, Maverick and Harley. Dear sister of Patricia Torto.

Jean was born in Duryea, PA and moved to Somerville as a young girl. This was where she met her husband, raised her family, and lived for most of her life. She worked for many years as a teaching assistant, helping countless elementary school children to read, a role that combined her love of children with a passion for books and knowledge. However, her most treasured role was taking care of her family. Jean will be remembered for her quiet strength, wisdom, grace, and sassy wit and she will be forever missed by her grateful and loving family and friends.
