DABNEY, Jean Ramkey, of Richmond, peacefully concluded her 90-year journey of life on June 20, 2013. The youngest of three children, she was born on December 17, 1922 to William and Norma Ramkey. On July 24, 1943, she married Edwin P. Dabney, with whom she shared 63 years until his passing in 2006. She was also predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and William Kelley Jr.; and her two brothers, Lee and William Ramkey. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Dabney and his wife, Cynthia, of Midlothian; three grandchildren, Nicholas Kelley and his wife, Annette, of Mechanicsville, Andrew Kelley and his wife, Allison, of Henrico, and Casey Kongkreingkrai and her husband, Randy, of Chesterfield; and three great-grandchildren whom she adored, Alyssa, Chelsea and Ryan. She will also be missed by her brothers' children, Kristin, Carol, Molly, David and Susan. She was a lab technician with Stuart Circle Hospital and the Commonwealth of Virginia "feed and fertilizer" lab before retiring to enjoy her hobby of painting. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, in Riverview Cemetery. Jean was a dedicated life-long member of Ginter Park Baptist Church, where a memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 24. In lieu of flowers, her wishes were that donations be made in her name to Ginter Park Baptist Church, 1200 Wilmington Ave., Richmond, Va. 23227.
