Not sure what to say?

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I did not know her personally but my mother, Adrianna Norton, knew and admired her. Most of my life, Jean's painting "New Orleans" hung in Max and Adrianna Norton's entry way on Stoddard Road. It is now hanging in my home in Atwater.

Jean Dunlap was hugely responsible for my career in design. She hired me to work in ad layout, display, gift wrap and in sales. She is unforgettable. In high school I remember staying up until 11:45 at night, Jean at my side, as I finished designs for Seventeen Magazine contests. She would then rush to the post office to make the midnight deadline. Her dedication was tireless. I am truly blessed to have known her, and to have learned so much from her.

Jean literally gave me my start in life, with a job as her display person, based on my promise as a young artist in high school. She was an amazing force unto herself. Bigger than life in everyway. I worked for her and her family in Modesto and then when I went away to school, in San Jose, I worked at Hart's in Saratoga and did work in Mt. View and Berkeley at Hink's. There was no one like her near or far and consider myself so fortunate to have known her at such a young and impressionable...

I met Jean at the Center for the Blind in Stockton several years ago. We had many long and friendly conversations. I always admired her for her level of intelligence, education and creativity. She was always ready to go along with any enterprise that could benefit the blind. She never complained about her condition and was truly a joy to have around.
My condolences to her family. I am sure she will be missed, but also remembered with great love.
