Jean was born on June 4, 1924 and passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019. She was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Barbara (Littlefield) Tanner; she attended the Wheeler School, Nathan Bishop, and was valedictorian of Hope High School's class of 1941. She served in the U.S. Navy, Women's Reserve, in Washington, D.C. Her memorial service will be held at Central Congregational, Church 296 Angell Street, Providence, RI 02906 on Monday, September 23, at 11am. Contributions in her memory may be made to Central Congregational Church or Brown University Annual Fund, Box 1877, Brown University, Providence RI 02912.
Mrs. Edwards was a lovely lady that always had a kind word to say. Her contributions to the Review Club in Providence were exceptional. Will miss her intellect and her zest for life.
May she rest in peace in Gods comfort.

So sorry to hear that Jean has passed away. I worked with Jean as a volunteer in the Lincoln Library while my daughter Kim Sprague Anderson was a student and for about six years after she was graduated - having been a teacher at Bryant College, I really enjoyed the academic community.
She was such a lovely lady - and I have very fond memories of our lives together at the best school in the area! Audrey Sprague
