I became friends with Jeanie when I lived at the coast. One day I parked in front of the Waldport Library behind a car that made me chuckle. There was a Mensa bumper sticker partially covering a badly damaged tail light. When I got inside there was only one person visible, so I asked if the car with the Mensa sticker was hers. Jean and I spent years of Tuesday afternoons in our Waldport writing group where I learned to appreciate the subtle and brilliant use of language in her poetry. In addition to those memories and a few samples of her poetry, I have a small painting that she sent me before she left Waldport. I am blessed to have known her.
