To my beloved sister Jean Ekkens Gilbert I remember, as my older sister, you taking me downtown to the the animated windows in Wurzburg's at Christmas and to see Santa Claus; we would go to Henry Smith Floral to see their display and walk up Monroe to Herpolsheimers to ride the train and see Rudolph -after that would go to Holly's restaurant for warm apple pie with cheddar cheese and then we would ride the bus home again - sometimes we would see a movie. We also traveled to Spain and Disney...

As friends of Jim and Carol we had the opportunity to meet Jean and share many day trips to the movies and restaurants they took her on. We also have fond memories of shared Christmas and Easter holidays and birthday celebrations with Jean at Jim and Carol's home.
She especially loved the trips to Disney World they took her on.
We will miss her but we know she finally rests without pain and suffering. God bless you Jean, and all of your loving family.
