Not sure what to say?

My husband and I both have treasured memories of our time with Jean. My husband, Ron Butchart, had the good fortune of being one of Jean's teachers in graduate school. As he says, "she was one of the brightest, most enthusiastic learners that I ever worked with. Jean lived her life admiring learning and striving for more."

I, on the other hand, worked in the room next to Jean at State Street Elementary School. I never experienced a day where Jean wasn't excited to get started...

Jean was a treasured friend and colleague. I have nothing but the greatest admiration for all she did for her students, her family, her friends and her community. I will miss her always. She had the strength of a true leader and a kind, giving nature; she found ways to quietly and earnestly contribute to a variety of causes and groups. Jean was endearing, smart and caring, not to mention fun to be around. How lucky I was to have known her.

To Jean's family,
What a beautiful tribute to Jean was the Memorial Service. I was unable to stay for the reception afterward but do want to express my sincere condolences to all of you. I taught with Jean for several years and was always impressed with her dedication and genuine concern for the students.

Dear Dave -- You and your family have our deepest, heartfelt condolences in Jean's recent passing.

Although this is a very difficult time for you, may you derive some measure of solace in the memories of the many happy times that you enjoyed together, and in the confidence that Jean rests in peace.

To Jean's Family,
While Jean was teaching third grade in Skaneateles I was doing the same job in Marcellus. Always hearing what a wonderful teacher and person she was, I hoped one day to meet her. That finally happened when I began volunteering about 8 years ago at Baltimore Woods. A more wonderful and incredible person I had not met. We worked together on many projects and I found her a true joy to be with. I will miss her as a friend and fellow volunteer. For sure, she is...

Dear Mr. Graham, Ginger & Wendy,
We were so saddened and shocked to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Mrs. Graham was an amazing person and I have so many fond memories of her, she will be missed.

Dave and Family,

I had the privilege of crossing paths with Jean several times over the years, at school, the Sherwood, fund raising events, the chamber and the library. She recently helped me find the perfect book to read when I needed comfort following the passing of my sister. She was a wonderful person and will be truly missed.

Dear Dave, we are so saddened to read about your loss, every time we together or separately had conversations with Jean it was a pleasant encounter that left us feeling uplifted , the whole community
will miss her and the work she did. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

I had the great honor to meet and work with Jean at SECC. My sons were always talking about the fun lady who came to read. She was an amazing asset to the center as a volunteer and as a board member. She was so supportive of our family when our son Mark passed away.
I don't think I ever saw her without her beautiful smile... She will be missed by many!
