Jean Kidwell

Jean Kidwell, 84, of 985 Highland Ave., Galion, died Monday, July 6, 2009 at Galion Community Hospital, Galion, after declining health for the past few years.Mrs. Kidwell was born in Edison on November 23, 1924 to the late Romie C. and Grace M. (Lepp) Thatcher. She married Russell M. Kidwell on May 5, 1946 and he survives her. Mrs. Kidwell was a member of Iberia Presbyterian Church. She sold real estate for Gehrisch Real Estate for 20 years. She was a member of the Gal-Lions Club for 30 years. She was Valedictorian of the Class of 1942 from Iberia High School. She was a graduate of Marion Business College. Jean's life was her family, especially her grandson.She is survived by her son and daughter in law; Jack and Linda Kidwell of Galion; grandson, Scott Kidwell; sister Ruth Ann Chapin of Atlanta, Georgia; brother in law, Raymond Kidwell of Chesterville and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Smith.Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Rev. Barbara Smith and Rev. Marian Redding officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery, Iberia.
