Read MoreI just learned today of the passing of a great attorney. Jean King fought male oriented UM security to get my job back 40 yrs ago. I have the utmost respect, admiration and confidence in Jean King. The world/Ann Arbor has lost an awesome attorney!!! Sorry for your loss!!

Just today I learned of Jean's death. Had no idea she was 20 years older than I. We worked closely together on women's rights issues and Women and Law conferences in the 70s and saw each other regularly in the 80s. I am very saddened. I loved and respected her. If anyone still reads this site, my thoughts are with her family and other friends and colleagues.

Many years ago, two of my friends and I attended her class "Women and the Law" at WCC (back when WCC was 1 building and several trailers). She was such a good instructor and we learned so much. Later I did typing for her occasionally. I loved talking with her -- she was so direct and so common sense! And such an accomplished formidable woman. My condolences to her family - although she sure had a long productive life that you can all be proud of.
