Not sure what to say?

We will always remember Jean as a loving, kind, fun, generous person. She always welcomed me on my visits to CA opening her home and her heart. Jean was a great listener and had a way of making people feel special. She will be greatly missed. May she look down on her many friends and relatives sending peace, love, and comfort.

Aunt Jean was a bright spot in the lives of the Kistners. How could we ever forget her joy at Chrismas and the beautiful gifts she brought each of us. A special year was the time she hosted the Kistners for an early Christmas. Her home was a magical winter wonderland that she had decorated herself. She was a loving, generous woman who will be greatly missed.

Auntie Jean,
So much energy, so much love. You lived every day of your life with a zest that was incredible to behold. You were such an inspiration to multiple generations of "Careys". Each one of us is blessed by having you in our lives and you will live on in our spirits and in the endless "Auntie Jean" stories that we will tell.
You're right Auntie Jean, the sky is so beautiful... :)

Aunt Jean, my mother's best friend and twin sister, was a special person for everyone in her life. Loving, happy, joyful, caring, she loved people and she loved life. Everyone who met her was better for knowing her. Everyone who knew her will miss her. Thank you Jean for allowing us to be a part of your amazing world.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Jean's passing. She was the best employer that I could ever imagine, a gracious woman who showed me how to be professional in the workplace and how customers of the Smokehouse should be treated. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

Aunt Jean, you will be missed by so many people. I will always remember when I was a little girl and went to summer camp in the Santa Cruz mountains with the whole family. I remember sitting with you and my Grandpa Alden Carey playing games. And of course I will never forget the many Thanksgivings through out the years. What great memories I will always have. Love and prayers to all of the friends and family. Lorene,Les,Matthew,Megan,& Michael

Our family so loved Jean. We had such great times with her at our families get-togethers. She was always there providing food, fun and vitality to the whole day. She will be missed. We all loved her so much.

In 1962, when I was 12, Aunt Jean paid me $5 a day to clean garbage cans, tables, and ledges at the Smokehouse. I earned the title of "Sanitary Engineer." I was so thin she would wrap the apron cords around me twice. I left the Smokehouse at 20, having learned from Aunt Jean's example, how to treat people with love and respect.
