Read MoreShe was one of my favorite teachers. I was in her art class for 4 years. I'm sure our class wore her out, but she put up with our antics. She was volunteering at St John West Shore Hospital when our daughter was born. She came to see me in the recovery room. That was the last time I saw her in 1985. Rest in Peace Mrs. Kogge.

I adored Jean. In her later years she befriended my mother, BJ Kotapish, who referred to Jean as her best friend. At every visit, I was thrilled when Jean would join us for Spite and Malice, a game she taught my mom. She and John would join us for dinner and how we would laugh over stories they would share. I am so grateful to have known her and loved her.
