Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

Chicopee- Jean (Wilk) Lariviere, 75, passed away at Baystate Medical Center on December 1, 2023.  One of five children to the late Frank and Jennifer (Frankowicz) Wilk, Jean was born in Chicopee on August 30, 1948.  She was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School and had previously been employed at Carando Foods, in Springfield.  Jean is survived by her husband of 56 years, David P. Lariviere, their son, Derek Lariviere and a grandson, Jackson.  Jean also leaves her brother, Leonard Weeks of Chicopee, Gail Weeks of Chicopee, and Denise Paynter, of Lincoln, RI, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.  In addition to her parents, Jean was also predeceased by a brother, Gary Wilk.  Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee.  Burial will be held at a later date.  To leave your condolences or to share a memory with the family, please visit www.CorridanFuneral.com

I can still hear her singing, “I don’t know why I love you like I do.” She and David visited often. We laughed a lot whenever we were together. I was honored to be a bridesmaid at their wedding. It was a beautiful wedding. She was a beautiful bride and we wore red with white hand muffs. And, who sang at their wedding? You guessed it! Jean! And the song? Cousins: Time has passed so quickly; Jean has said to me in a Xmas card. I am sure Jeans soul has reached the Heavens and she can be with her loved ones once again.

My deepest sympathies to Jeannie´s family. We grew up together on Westover Road . I remember when she and friends made the record together " You Let Me Down " she had a beautiful voice. I have a lot of memories of Jeannie through the years. See you in again dear friend.
