Funeral for Jean King Lawrence, 86, of Hartselle will be today, August 20, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Vest officiating. Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lawrence died on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Columbia Cottage Assisted Living in Hartselle. She was born November 23, 1926, in Morgan County to the late John C. King and Louida Lovett King. Mrs. Lawrence loved her cottage angels and spoke of them often to family. Her family included the residents of Columbia Cottage as well. She loved her church and church family at McKendree Methodist in Massey. She was a good mother, kind friend and faithful wife. She was formerly employed by Maison Morgan in Hartselle as a sales clerk. Her husband, Joel Don Lawrence, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Lawrence (Ellen) of Mt. Airy, N.C., and Brian Lawrence (Jennifer) of Kennesaw, Ga.; one daughter, Linda Huskey of Hartselle; one sister, Maxine McHan of Punta Gorda, Fla; grandchildren, Jenni, Mandy, Molly, Stewart, Joel Thomas, Kevin and Lindsay; great- grandchildren, Tyler, Trent, Molly, Jayce, Reid, Macie, Katie, Elijah, Callie, Jacob, Ella and Deborah; and

great-great- grandchildren, Colt, Gavin and Garrett.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Her family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Columbia Cottage.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
