Not sure what to say?

Dear Doug and family, We were so sorry to hear of Jean's passing. I had her for my 6th grade teacher when she had a split class of 4th and 6th grades. I am sure that was a challenge for any teacher, but she was wonderful. The most challenging part for her was my younger brother, David, was in her 4th, so I got to tell on him all of the time. She will be so missed! Candace (Damme) Rousseau

Dear Doug and Family.
I was sadden to hear of your Mom's passing.I was together with about 1/2 of my family over Thanksgiving and we all spoke of your Mom. Some of us had her for our teacher and some of us just missed having her. We remembered it was always a treat to see so many of our elementary teachers the the various weddings in our family. Your Mom was in attendance for most, if not all of them. Blue Lake's lost another of the beloved 'old guard' as we used to refer to our Mom...

Jean was my mother in law, and stand in mother for 20 years, then friends for another 20 years. I loved her and we had many times making Christmas wreaths and beautiful bows. We garden together shared plants, pick flowers. She talk about her pass and lots of good stories to share. I will miss her....

DuWayne and I are saddened to hear of Jean's passing.
I first met Jean in 1959 when Susan sat in back of me in Algebra I at Arcata High School (we were seated alphabetically, I before L). I soon knew Jean as one of the most gracious women I had ever met and she remained so throughout her life. She was also a talented florist and made the bridesmaids' daisy headpieces for my wedding.
We look forward to attending the celebration of life on December 7th.

Jean was one of the first people I met when I moved to Blue Lake 5 years ago. We use to have tea in her front room. We are both retired teachers and use to share our stories about the classroom. I love Jean.

Mrs. Leavitt was my 5th grade teacher. It was the Bi-centennial and our class made a life size Liberty Bell and Mrs. Leavitt encouraged me to write a play about Betsy Ross and we performed it. She was a wonderful teacher and I have such great memories of my time in her class. She touched so many lives.

Doug and family, sorry to learn of your mom's passing. May she truely rest in peace...

My dear friend Jean. What an inspiration just knowing her. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Lois

A wonderful friend and neighbor for over 45 years. You will be missed by many and the city of Blue Lake has lost one of it's great assets.
