Jean will always be the heart of Our JA community. So sad I missed her service

Jean was the heart and soul of the Heart Research Laboratory (HRL) at Oregon Health and Sciences University from 1961 to 1986. She was the right hand woman for Dr. James Metcalfe, who led the lab. She served as his secretary and provided support for many research activities as well. Jean was the Autonomic Nervous System of the Heart Research Lab. She kept the key operations running in the background with grace and integrity. I feel truly grateful to have known Jean and witnessed her positive influence on so many folks.

So many wonderful memories of working with Jean at OHSU. Thoughtful, dedicated are just two words that embodied her both working at OHSU and after her retirement. There is no longer a fund raiser at the OBT this year. Because of you, I never missed the first Saturday of October to patronize your youth group's fundraiser, but also to enjoy the wonderful food the volunteers would make to enjoy at the Temple, and also to bring home.
