Jean Mayfield RN

I had the honor of initially meeting Jean as a patient. Over the years, we formed a special friendship that included fun trips shopping and sharing meals at her favorite deli. We spent many hours together, and I was amazed at the stories of her childhood in Canada, travel, and work as a nurse. Her energy and determination carried her further than I had seen anyone half her age! My visits were less frequent after I had moved further away from the Westside, but we kept in touch on the phone...

i want to extend my sympathy to Jean´s family. I saw the obituary in the LA Times and realized that Jean was an old buddy from our days at University High School adult school. We were in an oil painting class together back in the 70´s. She was a very talented artist. And a great help to me with her encouragement and advice. When she moved from her apartment, we lost contact. I am glad to know she had such a long life and hope she continued painting. She was an interesting, kind and talented...
