Jean-Paul R. Aubin, 88, formerly of South Hadley, passed away on March 22, 2018 in Aurora, CO where he has been living for the past 2 years. He was born in Chicopee, son of the late Rudolph and Donalda (Lamarr) Aubin and was educated in Holyoke, graduating from Perpetual Help Grammar and Holyoke High Schools. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Navy. When he returned home he attended and graduated from the New Bedford Institute of Technology where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by Texon, Inc. of South Hadley, American Bosch of Springfield, Uniroyal, Inc. of Chicopee and Ambac International of West Springfield from which he retired. Jean was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church in South Hadley. He leaves his loving wife, Adele “Dolly” Aubin; stepchildren, David and Maureen Jagodowski of Cape Cod and their daughters, Stacy and Lindsay; Chet Bobala of Chicopee and his son Bob and daughter Doreen; Pat Demers of Centennial, CO and her sons Ryan and Rory; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two step-children, Kathryn Bobala and Richard Demers, his sister Rita and her husband Real Gosselin and his brother Donald and his wife Tookie Aubin. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 beginning with a Visiting Hour from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. in the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Chapel located on the 3rd Floor of Birchman’s Hall on the Elms College Campus, 291 Springfield St., Chicopee. Burial with Military Honors will follow the Mass in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.
