Jean Latta Selman, of Vestavia Hills, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2016, at the age of 76. She had been owner and operator of her Merle Norman Studio for the past 50 years. Ms. Selman was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist church and of the Kline Sunday School Class, whom she loved dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Franklin Selman. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Roy (Glen); grandson, Trey Smitherman; and her sister, Frances Hawk.
The family will receive friends from 10-11, Monday, August 22, 2016, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral will follow at 11 AM in the chapel, Rev. Ryan Rosser and Kerry Kline officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
Pam and Trey so sorry to hear about Jeans passing I wish I could of been there for you both. I love all of you and have since I was 15 years old and y'all are the reason I look younger than my age. I love you both and don't hesitate to contact me for anything! You both are in my thoughts and prayers. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.

So sorry to hear of Ms Jean's passing. Always enjoyed talking with her at the Merle Norman store. She told me how much she loved southern gospel music and usually had songs playing. She will be missed.
