Not sure what to say?

Missing you on Thursday poetry. Good things that is. A book soon? Always in my heart.

Dear Jean, I visit you often. I miss your beautiful smile and that you always were so generous in your critique. We all miss you. Lots of love

Something about Jean

I will remember her
through her poetry
her wonderful laugh.

Her beautiful smile.
I loved the way she created
verse and senses.

I can only wish
that I had had such
a teacher.

I was privileged to have known
her if only for a short while.
Our Thursday poetry group

The world has lost a beautiful gentle person. I will miss sharing poetry with each other, and the letters you insisted be handled by the post office instead of e-mail. Rest easy sister - I will see you later love.

It was our pleasure to have Jean as a close friend for the last 6-7 years. She was soft spoken but you didnt...

Jean and I met in 1969, both of us employees of WSUI, the University of Iowa radio station. We shared many good times, camping in northern Wisconsin, visiting each other's homes and enjoying new cities as we moved around the states, and sending many letters & phone calls, sharing our lives. Jean's mind was brilliant, her poetry spare and touching. Her appreciation for classical music (my field) was genuine, & we attended concerts whenever we could. She was a fine person, who will be...

Jean Elizabeth, as Bill Martinez liked to call her, was a passionate supporter of national single payer health care--an improved Medicare for All. She and Bill frequently graced the booths of Kentuckians for Single Payer Health Care, reaching out to educate the community on a system that could cover us all. Jean was a gentle person projecting a vision of a kinder and healthier society. Quiet, smiling, believing in the better world to come. We honor her memory.
