Dear Beth,
So many years have passed since last I babysat you or even had the pleasure of reuniting.
I am so very sorry that you have lost your dear father, such a remarkable man who maintained his great wit and incredible wealth of knowledge despite his age.
He was fortunate to have so many friends and admirers and, especially, the caring good neighbors who so lovingly helped by checking in on him.
We all wish that he had achieved his last goal.....one century of...

To all his family, my deepest sympathies go to you. I will miss Herman. He was a kind, witty, and talented gentleman and I am so grateful we were friends. I will treasure the times I was able to make music with him, and always remember his special sense of humor.
