My cousin Jean-- she was a little older than me and always did everything first- dates (that good-looking Jerry Valenstein, who looked like Tyrone Power), and traveling, and buying a house (in Cedarcroft), and having a baby, and another baby, and another baby, and another baby. On school snow days, my intrepid mother would drive over with Silber's "buns" and we'd spend the day with Kath and the Valensteins. It was the greatest.

One of my fondest memories of "Miss Jean" is of her walking down Newcastle Rd on her way to our house on warm summer days when we were just kids, like 7 or 8 yrs old. She always had a pack of "Chicklets" gum and a glass of iced tea and a pack of "Tarreton" cigs! Always in a happy mood, and always ready with a funny zinger for any of us neighborhood kids. Her memory will always remind me of happy times growing up in the best neighborhood ever! We'll all miss you "Miss Jean"
