Joyce "Jean" Rippy Whitworth, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Hospice Wendover in Shelby, NC. Jean was a life-long homemaker born in Cleveland County on April 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late William Talmadge Rippy and Iver Mae Head Rippy. 


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Lee A. Whitworth, and sisters Annie Lee Rippy, Lib Blanton, Louella Rippy and Velvia Martin, and brothers Dean Rippy and Bobby George Rippy.


Jean is survived by her son Tony Lee Whitworth (Brenda) and a daughter, Kim Bright of Grover, as well as a grandson Brandon Bright (Stephanie) of Shelby, and great grandsons Waylon Lee and Wyatt Lee Bright, and her sisters Brenda Mace and Trit Lowery


To honor Jean's wishes, the Service will be private.
