Not sure what to say?

Phillip,
I just found out about your Mom. I'm so sorry I didn't get to attend her service and express my condolences in person. Donna and I will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you and comfort you and your family.

My children were students at Wasena School when Mrs. Coulter was the school secretary. She was the most gracious and competent woman I think I've ever met. Nell Walters was school principal when my oldest entered Wasena, and I assumed that Jeanne Coulter, like Nell Walters, had dedicated her life completely to Wasena School, making it an outstanding school with many extraordinary alumni from over the years. So I was surprised to find out (she never mentioned it) that she was married to Judge...

Kathy, David and Phillip,

Please know your childhood neighbor and friend is thinking of you in this time of loss. It is like yesterday that I was in your diveway on Carolina Avenue begging for another ride on your self-built go-cart. Your mom and dad were very much a part of my childhood memories (particularly at Crystal Spring Elementary and coaching sandlot baseball at South Roanoke Park) and very close friends of my parents. I feel blessed to have visited with your mom (and...

It was wonderful to meet all of you. I was sad that it took an event like this to finally meet all of you, but better late than never. I recall as a child whenever any of the Hodges or Coulters would call my very special Mother Ruth it made her so happy. I recall Jack Coulter calling about a display honoring the Roanoke soldiers killed in WW11. My father was Robert Monroe Clarke and lost his life serving in the South Pacific. That call made Mom very happy. Think about what we can all do each...

I just learned of Jeanne's death and send my heartfelt sympathy to her family. I taught at Wasena School when Loetta Horton and Jack Ramey were principals there and Jeanne was the school secretary. I recall her gracious smile and her endless patience as well as her competence and efficiency at all the tasks related to that key role. I have thought of her many times since those years. May she rest in peace and may her offspring always remember what a wonderful person she was, a person who...

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the death of your loved one. I know you already miss her. Jean was the secretary / office manager at Wasena Elementary School when I first began my teaching career in the late 70s (& I was a late comer to the profession). She was a kind, warm, gracious, patient, lovely lady who was a great help to all who came in contact with her.
Sincerely,

We have had a saying at our house for over thirty years: "He's so nice, he's almost as nice as David Coulter". In getting to know Mrs. Coulter better since she came to live at Brandon Oaks, it is clear why she has such a nice family. It was always a joy to see her when I would be there. She was such a positive, caring and gracious lady, and I know she will be greatly missed.

Phillip & family, I will always remember her coming into the bank with your dad & him driving her nuts when he would pull his tie out so I could see what design it had on it...she was too cute...She & your dad are both very special people and will be missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Diane DeHaven
