Not sure what to say?

I sent thee late a rosy wreath Not so much honoring thee As giving it a place that there It could not withered be But thou theron did only breathe An sent it back to me Since when it grows and smells, I swear, Not of itself, but thee

Dear Jeannie, I feel so very sad to have found you this way. I have searched for you over so many years but I failed because I didn't know your married name. I am writing here because I want you to know how much you meant to me (even though our sharing was much too short.) I will never forget meeting you on the plane ride to Europe, our time at the American School in Switzerland, or especially that night in the little Paris cafe where we danced and laughed. And (of course) when we...

My Aunt Jeanne and I were very close my senior year of high school. She was an excellent conversationalist and made you feel like you were the smartest person in the world. She loved music and used to play guitar and sing songs to me. I think she only knew about 3 chords but she could pretty much play anything. She would send me on runs to the Farm Store to buy beer and menthol cigarettes. She enjoyed sharing stories about distant family members and made everyone's story so exciting it...

These are pictures of a trip Jeanne made out to San Diego in approximately 1974-75 that include pictures of my grandmother Helen, Jeanne, myself and my mother Ardys . The second picture, of course, is Jeanne and Martin from that same trip.

My dear sweet Jeanne Beanie, the Cousin I never knew I had until we met 50 years ago on a beach in Honolulu Hawaii. I think we were destined to meet, and after a near tragic accident in my family we found each other and discovered that her mom Lillian (Dahlberg) and my grandmother Helen (Cochran) were cousins. It began a lifelong relationship that blossomed into a most special friendship. She encouraged me after this accident to continue to pursue my education, and as a result, I had a...

Jeanne was, and will forever be, one of my very best friends. I´m so incredibly grateful for the time we had together-and it was a lot. So many days, week after week, month after month, year after year, we sat together on my little porch by the lake, talking and laughing our heads off. We had a shorthand and a million inside jokes. She would regale me with stories from her past and all of the characters that peppered her life. Jeanne lived bigly, and loved bigly. She loved books, music, art,...

Thirty years ago when Allen entered my life, so did Jeanne. She very quickly became one of my favorite people in the world and never lost that status. She was generous, smart, funny and if you were fortunate enough to be someone she loved, that love was unconditional. She was willing, and did, forgive pretty much anything if she loved you. I am sad that her last days were spent alone. She deserved better. I will miss her immensely.
