Jeanne Ann Meyer, daughter of Milton and Myrtle (Naig) Brandau, was born January 29, 1933 in Osage, Iowa. She received her education in Charles City and  graduated from Charles City High School.

On January 16, 1951, Jeanne was united in marriage to Bernie Meyer at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City, Iowa. To this union, six children were born.

Jeanne worked for Oliver Tractor Company in Charles City. When Jeanne had children, she was a faithful mother and homemaker. In 1964, they moved to Ruthven where she worked at R&R Grocery Store for several years. After moving to Mason City in 1980, Jeanne began a successful daycare business in her home.

During her retirement, she moved back to Charles City. There, she stayed active volunteering for the Senior Center and helping deliver Meals on Wheels. She was a devoted member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she served on the church board, helped in the kitchen, and enjoyed making quilts. In 2019, Jeanne moved to Laurens and later Ruthven to be closer to family. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven.

She loved playing cards, especially “500”, square dancing, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed having her grandchildren over for a week at a time.

I am sorry to hear about Jeanne's passing. I will always remember her smile and laughter when Berne, and Harold and Della Wichman were together.

The world lost a great person. How she touched our family was amazing. The trips she made with Mom and the laughter. What a wonderful kind person.

To the Meyer Family,
My heart is very sad to hear of your mother’s passing. She was such a beautiful person and she will be missed. I have many wonderful memories and I hope you all find comfort in all your memories. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
