On Saturday October 9, 2004, in her Chico home, Jeanne Posey slipped away from us and into the arms of her Savior after a valiant fight with cancer. Jeanne was christened Norma Jean Compton on June 14, 1925 to Jack and Vera Compton of San Francisco. Her father Jack worked for the Otis Elevator...

Not sure what to say?

What a treasure Jeanne was! Jeanne enriched the lives of everyone who was fortunate enough to know her, and she left all of us with beautiful memories. I first met Jeanne in the 60's when she moderated a fashion show I was in. Our paths crossed many times after that, and I spent a lot of time with her when she was an
Ambassador for the Chico Chamber of Commerce. Jeanne was not only an excellent Ambassador for the Chamber--but for Chico as well! Jeanne's rich legacy will live on, and...

Even though I only knew Jeanne for a few weeks, she touched my heart and brought a much needed smile to my face. It has been a blessing to be a part of Jeanne and George's life. Thank you both for letting me in.

I am sorry to hear of Jeanne Posey's passing. When I was a young girl and my parents bought their first television, the very first person I ever saw on TV was Jeanne cooking!! What a neat memory!! Later I remember her and her husband on many telethons and in the Posey Fair.

My best to her family.

George and family,

I know I speak for the countless people that Jeanne touched in her lifetime. The group I knew her through was the Chico Chamber Ambassadors. I believe her service ran for more than 20 years. She was truly a delight to be around and work with. She always was willing to chip in and help with the many ribbon cuttings, the Industrial BBQ, the Awards dinners, etc. We will truly miss her and her smile.

I was saddened to read of Jeanne's passing. When I was young, my neighbors entered the Silver Dollar Fair Queen pagent. I remember watching Jeanne teach them her famous "parade wave". Years later, when I worked at the Chamber of Commerce, Jeanne was always willing to help when I needed someone to volunteer for an activity. She is truly going to be missed. What a remarkable woman! My deepest sympathies,

I enjoyed knowing Jeanne through her daughter Danette, and our activities in Indian Maidens and Job's Daughters. I attended countless salad luncheons and fashion shows delightfully commentated by Jeanne. I also recall her hostessing the Miss Silver Dollar Fair Pageant. I still look for the Posey Fair when I drive down Broadway! Jeanne was one terrific lady and she will always be a part of my Chico memories.

Dear Posey Family:

My husband Brad and I love you all and our prayers are with you during this time of loss. We know you are comforted knowing Jeanne is with Jesus.

I have special memories of Jeanne from childhood, going to shop at Posey Faire with my mom. I had no idea that she was involved in so many other areas. What a blessing she has been to so many!

A Chico legand, gone but not forgotten.

Mom and I had many good memories of Jeanne, especially her fashion shows. Tom and I wish her family only the best and many prayers. Patty
