Mrs. Jeannie Lucille Rogers Miles, age 64 of Fodder Creek Road, Hiawassee, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on August 14, 2021. Jeannie was born on August 29, 1956 in Andrews, NC., daughter of Helen Christine Adams Rogers & the late James “Jimmy” Richard Rogers. Jeannie loved the Lord & honoring him through singing gospel music. It brought her great joy to do so. She also loved being outdoors, whether it be deer-hunting, water-skiing, or playing softball. Jeannie was a skilled seamstress, crafting draperies and other décor. Jeannie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her family was definitely the light of her life; she loved each and every one of her family members greatly. Jeannie delighted in her role as a member and the pastor's wife at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church; she enjoyed serving alongside her church family with W.M.U. and Truett Baptist Children's Home. Jeannie was life-long resident of Clay and Towns Counties.
Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years; Dennis Eugene Miles of Hiawassee, loving mother; Helen Rogers of Young Harris, one son & daughter-in-law; Adam & Ashley Miles of Hiawassee, one daughter & son-in-law; Mary Beth & Jonathan Barrett of Blairsville, two brothers & two sisters-in-law; Ricky & Vikki Rogers of Hayesville, David & Alicia Rogers of Young Harris, three sisters; Pam Dean & Dale Shope of Hiawassee, Sherry & Wesley Parramore of Young Harris, Kim McGill & Jamie Barrett of Young Harris, and six grandchildren; A.J., Makenna, Gabriel, & Marley Miles, Abby & Kate Barrett. Many other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 18, 2021 at 2:00pm from the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of Warne, NC., with Rev. Ricky Rogers & Rev. John Lance officiating. Special music will be presented by Matthew Roach. Interment will follow in the Enotah Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiawassee. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers; A.J. Miles, David Rogers, D.J. Rogers, Kyle Woody, Jonathan Barrett, and Dewayne Ledford. Gabriel Miles will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the church. Flowers are being accepted or if you wish the family requests that donations be made to the Mt. Pisgah W.M.U. in Jeannie’s memory.
