Jeff Phylas Hartsell

Jeff was truly one of "The Great Guys." I was fortunate to meet him at The Citadel and he became one of my best friends. I have many wonderful remembrances of my friend Jeff. He and "Miss Jane" were a wonderful couple. He is missed by his family, and friends. Rest in peace my friend.

I first met Jeff at The Citadel and we became close friends through school and well beyond. Our trip to the Bahamas became a "classic" story that has been told many times through the years and certainly can't be told here. (ha) It is a privilege to call Jeff my friend and to know his beautiful wife Jane. Thank you, Hal Chapman

I just heard of Jeff's passing from Hal Chapman. I met Jeff in Orlando when he visited Hal and we really hit it off. I had a airplane and flew Jeff and one other friend to the Bahamas. What a time. It was not long after that Jeff had his own airplane.... Went to his home once and met all the family.... What a wonderful group. I first met Jeff in 1975 when I arrived in Stanly County. I always appreciated his kindness and enthusiasm, especially as I officiated many funerals with Hartsell. May God bless Jane and his children.
