Mr. Jefferson W. Minchew

Mr. Jefferson Wilbur "Jeff" Minchew, age 82, of Toccoa, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Northeast GA Medical Center. Born March 19, 1934 in Willacoochee, GA, he was a son of the late Herbert Wilbur and Mary Metts Minchew. He was a member of Tates Creek Baptist church and was the owner of Georgia Pools Company in Toccoa. Mr. Minchew was retired from the United States Air Force with 21 years of service and was a member of the United States Presidential Support Team. Family members include his wife, Peggy Roland Minchew; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Roger Campbell of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Jan Minchew of Toccoa; sisters and a brother-in-law, Nina Killeen of Lake Park, GA and Betty and Russ Sirmans of Ringgold, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Laura Minchew of Lake Park, GA; grandchildren, Kristi and Jason Oliver of Toccoa, Jeremy and Dawn Campbell of Flowery Branch, Justin and Joni Minchew of Toccoa, and Scott and Ashley Campbell of Toccoa; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday, September 17, 2016 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty, the Rev. Talmadge Chandler, and Brian Minchew officiating. Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Mike Marinell, Gary Thigpen, Gene Minchew, Brian Minchew, Craig Pittman, Jonothan Sanders. Todd Minchew and the Georgia State Patrol will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Tates Creek Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 5pm – 8pm Friday, September 16, 2016. Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
