Jefferson B. Wheeler

Jeff was a good friend and a fine man. Honesty, strong ethics and integrity sized up Jeff. He will be missed.

I met Jeff in 6th grade at Las Flores Elementary School in Bellflower, CA. He was a really nice boy that everyone liked, he was always joking. I got to know Jeff even better at Washington Junior High when we sat next to each other for home-room with Mr. Groeling. Jeff was kind of like a big brother. We went on to Bellflower High School and, although we didn't have any classes together, we stayed in touch because we rode the same school bus. Iworked for Jeff at the County in the middle of my career. He was a kind and supportive boss and we became friends, playing golf on occassion. At Jeff's retiement, I was moved by his son, Scott, paying him tribute as the dad that always showed up for every important school or sporting event. It made an impression on me because Jeff seemed to be showing up at every important work related meeting or funtion too and never used his kids activities as a reason not show up for us at work.
