Melancon, Jeffery Paul 'Fro' Jeffery, 54, lost his courageous battle with cancer at 11:30 PM Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at his residence in Sorrento. He was a heavy equipment operator. Visitation will be 8:30 am until service at 10:30 am Saturday, Feb. 12, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Sorrento, conducted by Rev. Michael Galea. Burial in Hope Haven Garden of Memory, La 30. He is survived by his wife, Sue Benton Melancon, mother & stepfather, Doris & Arthur Ducote; 2 daughters, April & Greg Pittman of Galvez, Heather Brunet & companion Chad Falgoust; 5 sisters, Raven & Jody Harelson of Gonzales, Cammy & Shawn Bercegeay of Maurepas, Gail & Larry Millet of Prairieville, Mary & Timothy Lukens of Gonzales, Jaci & Praidille Bateman; 2 brothers, Kevin & Kim Melancon of Galvez, Duane Melancon, of Sorrento; 2 grandchildren, Brittney Pittman and Emily Brunet. He as preceded in death by his maternal & paternal grandparents, father, Rogers J. Melancon, father-in-law, sister-in-law, & brother-in-law. Pallbearers will be his brothers & brother-in-laws. Honorary pallbearers are Jarred Melancon, Tim Stagg, and Geno Gorden. He loved his Mustang, fishing, and hunting. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Bird Pekins Cancer Center.
