Jeffery G. Otto

Jeffery G. Otto, 45, of Decatur passed away at 8:02 P.M. Thursday, October 24, 2013 in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. A service to celebrate Jeff's life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2013) at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Monday also at the funeral home. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Jeff was born on July 13, 1968 in Decatur, IL the son of Gyula "Julius" and Barbara (Utley) Otto. Jeff was an Eagle Scout from Troop #132. Mr. Otto served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He obtained a Bachelors Degree from ITT Technical Institute with honors. He worked for 10 years at Caterpillar. Jeff loved to spend his time with his friends camping and in the outdoors. He is survived by his spouse Debbie Burgess of Decatur, IL; son: Travis Otto of Decatur, IL; parents: Julius and Barbara of Decatur, IL; sister: Catherine (Jason) Yates of La Place, IL; aunt: Judith (Ray) Ostrander of Oreana, IL; aunt: Magdus (Imra) Giricz of Budapest, Hungary and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
