I'm so saddened to hear about Jeff's passing. I was one of his students at Columbia and his class was one of the highlights of my time there. Even before I was in his class, I had once heard him give a talk and emailed him afterwards with some questions about my real estate career path. He responded that my questions didn't warrant an email response, but rather I should come have coffee with him at his office. Whenever I would run into Jeff at industry events over the years, he was just as...

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Jeff. He was far more than my favorite professor at Columbia, but also a business mentor and dear friend. Those who knew Jeff would agree that he showed genuine interest in his students and mentees, inspiring their careers and also caring deeply about their happiness. Jeff changed the direction of my career and provided me with guidance when I needed it most. He will be missed. Condolences to his family.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. I was on a panel with him just this past fall, and Jeff was the picture of health and vigor. He was a kind and generous spirit, with true intellect and curiosity, which he shared with colleagues freely. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and industry. Rest in Peace, Jeff.

I had Jeff as an Adjunct Professor twice - once when I was in college at the NYU Stern School of Business and once when I was in graduate school at Columbia. He was a great professor and mentor. I would always see him at industry events and talk to him. Jeff was also one of the nicest and most kind hearted people that I have met in the real estate industry. I wish that I could thank him for the positive impact that he had on my life.
