Jeffrey Alan Blackman , 53, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at his home in Del Valle, Texas. Born April 27, 1958, in Houston, Texas to John Allen and Bettye Raska Blackman. Jeff grew up in Garden Oaks and spent many seasons playing football with the Oaks Dads Club. He went on to graduate from Pearland High School and began a career in Oil Field Pipe Inspection, which provided him extensive travel opportunities. Later he found his corner of heaven on earth in the Hill Country area and began a career in Maintenance for a Property Management/Development Group. His passion and talent for cooking occupied much of his free time as he participated in many Barbeque and Chili cook-offs, winning several top prizes and acquiring quite a display of trophies and medals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grandparents, Allen and Thelma DuPerier Blackman and Adolph and Mary Kneitz Raska, brother John Allen Blackman III, Aunt, Florence Mae Krejci, nephew, Christopher Perry, great-nephew, Adam Sandavol. Survivors include sisters, Deborah Blackman Janvick and husband Walt, Bettye Blackman Smith and husband Mike, June Blackman Stewart and husband Monty, nieces Julie Carrier, Cheyenna Brehm, Aubrey Leach, and Shelby Stewart. Nephews Michael Smith, Dustin Smith and Jeremy Stewart, Aunts Mary Lee Maxwell and Jo Ann Lentz, four great nephews and two great nieces, numerous cousins and many lifelong friends. A celebration honoring Jeff will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Candlelight Park Community Center, 1520 Candlelight Lane, Houston, Texas, 77018 from 1:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Join us in remembering and celebrating his life.

Jeff, I will miss you dearly, I am glad we got to spend a few years together while we worked for AMF tuboscope and living in Houston together. You always knew how to make me laugh and not worry about being away from home....Rest in Peace my cousin......love to you and Forever in our Hearts.....

Uncle Jeff, you will be dearly missed. Know that I cherished getting to know you as an adult and I am so grateful for the times you came to visit and spent time getting to know my little Sarah. I will always remember your great sense of humor and how you cared about others. My love to you and all of those that have gone before us. You will always have a special place in my heart.
