We planted a seed nearly 50 years ago in Dahlendorf, Jeff. Now look at what you've become: a towering tree, weathered and strengthened by sun and rain, limbs stretched to be home for a multitude and shade for those who sought rest below you. The leaves are withering, nurturing the seed that follows you. The wind carries a trace of you for me to breathe in. Your form returns to the eternal, but you remain within us. I knew Jeff briefly, but I grew to love him dearly. He will be missed. He taught me much. I am grateful for the time we had together. He called me "Wife", but we never said "I do". There was always tomorrow to deal with that...
