I was so sad to hear of Jeff's passing. Jeff was my first student teacher, and I remember him very fondly. He was eager to learn and well liked by students and staff due to his friendly, caring manner. It warms my heart to read of the impact he had on his students and community. My deepest condolences to Jeff's family, friends, and community.

Jeff and I were classmates at Benton Central. Jeff was the reserved intellectual with a gentle spirit. I will forever remember Jeff's expression as he looked at me from across the blackboard in algebra class. His expression, a mixture of curiosity and contempt as we faced off with the algebraic challenge of that morning. I'm pretty sure he let me win that day. It was a precursor to the life of service Jeff would embrace as a teacher.

While I did not know Mr. Brooks personally, I heard about him several times through a friend who worked with him. What an incredible man with a big heart. Boswell School and those who knew him were blessed. Prayers to his family.
