I still miss his wit and his intellect. So wish he were her to hear his perspective on how things are now. Impossible to imagine what has changed in these years.
May God comfort you as you continue forth until you are reunited again.

I feel a personal sense of loss in learning of the passing of Judge Coen. He modeled judicial temperament via his patience, compassion and intellect. In one of the many conversations that I had with him, I asked him how his health issues affected him? He told me that it made him grateful for every single day of life. He demonstrated that gratitude by giving generously of his time to the pro bono clinic and to lawyers, like me, who had an endless well of questions.

I first met Judge (Jeff) Coen in 2011 when he ran for Court of Appeals in Dallas and I conducted the forum for that race (which had 5 candidates).

Typically once the election is over, you usually never hear from either the winner or the losers.

However, Jeff was no ordinary human being. We continued to stay in touch. I learnt a lot about Family Law from him, knowledge that he shared without any reservation or expectation of compensation.
