Jeffrey Clay Darnell, 53, husband of 9 years to Tamera “Tammy” Lynn Frazer Darnell, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024.  Jeffrey was born October 25, 1970 in Mercer County, KY to the late Luther Clay Darnell, Jr. and Linda Gayle Keeling Darnell.


Including his parents, Jeffrey was preceded in death by an aunt, Joyce Marie Darnell McKinney.


Jeffrey attended Bethel Baptist Church and was a very hard worker.  He was a truck driver for Air Mechanical Systems in Georgetown and worked for Buck Meadows in Lawrenceburg. He loved to fish and watch westerns, often watching the same ones over and over. 


Including his wife Tammy, Jeffrey is survived by his daughters, Hope Benton (Jacob) of Salvisa, Clayra Darnell and Shelby Jones, both of Mercer County; a stepdaughter, Lindsey Ecklar of Danville; his grandmother, Louise Darnell of Lawrenceburg; an aunt, Tracy Lique (Pat Comley), and an uncle, Dudley Darnell (Karen), all of Lawrenceburg; a niece, Whitney Darnell of Burgin;  and four grandchildren.


Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. John McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 A.M. till time of service at 1 P.M.


Casket bearers will be Justin Jones, Aaron Murphy, Brandon Settles, Brice Lique, Steven Settles, and Terrance Stevenson. Honorary bearers will be Scott Buffin, Mark Beasley, Tyler Buckley, Scott Buckley, and Pat Comley.
