Not sure what to say?

Professor Davis was my favorite instructor at UMass who had taught my favorite chemical engineering course - fluid mechanics. The amount of resources he personally prepared and curated for students made what would have otherwise been a difficult subject accessible. He always encouraged students to ask him questions both inside and outside of class, and testament to his mastery of the field would always give clear, thoughtful responses to each one. Working under Jeffrey as an undergraduate...

My sincere condolences to the Davis Family. Prof. Jeff Davis was incredibly smart, talented and had a natural gift of teaching. I was fortunate to be a first year Ph.D. student in his Fluid Dynamics class in the 2005 Fall semester at UMass Chemical Engineering. It was joy to learn from him and it's so sad he left so soon. While his presence will be deeply missed, but his work and teachings will continue to shine brightly. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. - Tejinder

Dear Davis Family, I sorry to hear of your loss, may you find comfort in the many memories of Jeff. With deepest sympathy

Professor Davis was not only the smartest, but most compassionate professors I had at UMass. After struggling in the start of his class, he took so much of his time to help me better understand the material and make sure I was successful moving forward. As someone from the western mass area, it was great to connect with Prof Davis and see someone so high achieving from just a town over. I was honored when he asked me to write a recommendation for one of his teaching awards and hope he knows...

I was fortunate to be one of his PhD students at UMASS Amherst. In fact, I was the first one in his group. I feel sad to know that he left us so early. I remember him as one of the brightest scientists that I have known, and ofcourse a lovely human being. We all will dearly miss such a great teacher. Here is a photo of his group from 2008.

So very, very sorry. Sending Thoughts and Prayers.
