Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Dr. Echhardt's passing. His professionalism and caring has always stayed with me since my surgery at UCLA. He was an exceptional human being, and my thoughts will continue to be with him forever.

Dr. Eckardt has often been on my mind, since he was the incredible surgeon that performed limb saving surgery on my son on his 22nd birthday. He developed a wonderful friendship with Joey and we always enjoyed seeing him on our chemo visits at UCLA. Although he did everything he could for Joey, the cancer spread to his lungs and we lost him 19 days before his 23rd birthday. We received the kindest letter from Dr. Eckardt during that time, in which he stated that Joey was a favorite of his. I...

I have just come to know of the passing of this incredible man, Dr. Eckardt. My husband, Clayton, had bone cancer, and was his patient, having two big surgeries by him for related issues. My husband had been Air Force, flew countless missions, and they were kindred souls, alike in energy and spirit and commitment. They were like brothers. He helped my husband through many difficult situations, and the brotherhood was palpable. At the end, Dr. Eckhardt was there, in the most heroic,...

However these things happen his name crossed my mind just now. In 1993 my 25 yo girlfriend developed a rare cancer in her spinal cord/vertebral body. After much delay locally I spoke with him and he immediately said "Get her down here carefully asap and don't worry about the money." (Medicare issues) A great man in my eyes forever. (We ended up in an elevator together with a visiting foreign surgeon, I was sporting a mohawk in solidarity with my gf and he told the visitor they were...

I´m Just reading and I´m heartbroken. He saved my life in 2006. I will forever be grateful to him. He took the best care of me and my family in and out of the OR room. I am very honored to have been your patient. You will never be forgotten. I love you, Dr. Eckardt!

In 2004 my 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma of her left radius. I was a 23 years old not knowing anything about cancer, or what to expect! My baby went through chemo and radiation and the we were told we would need to amputate her left arm due to the malignancy. Like any young mom I was scared and was referred to Dr. Eckardt for a consultation. Before he could even say anything I was already crying, The day of the surgery came, and I prayed over my daughter and...

I am reaching out in regard to a great doctor who once worked tirelessly at UCLA. I am talking about Dr. Jefferey Eckhardt. About 23 years ago he treated my dad, who at the time had an unknown bone cancer. When I was about 6 years old my dad went in for treatment with advanced bone cancer and a very slim possibility of survival. My father Jose Alatorre is now 55 years old. He is in very good health, walks without assistance, runs, and has worked a physical job running his own construction...

Dr. Eckardt, I miss how much you cared for my family & myself (since 1981!), your incredible sense of humor (you begged me not to pick this house on House Hunters lol, (I still have the text on my phone!), your gracefulness, your extreme kindness & most of all still getting to see you while making me feel like a VIP lol. Dr. Eckardt you had been in my life for almost 40 years (I was looking forward to my celebration cake last May!) Hope you have a squirt gun in heaven. You will always be one...

He saved my life 25 years ago. He and I bonded on so many levels. I will never forget Dr. Eckardt. Or his team as long as I live.
