Not sure what to say?

This is rather late, for which I apologize, but I had to add a note. I was a counselor for one year at Camp Samoset II. I was hired as a baseball coach, and, when I arrived the baseball field was under an inch of water from the rain, and I didn't know anyone, and I was 18 years old and a little shaken. The first night, Fenton noticed, and he made an effort to talk to me and put me at ease. It has been 50 years since that summer, but I've never forgotten Camp Samoset, or Fenton, or...

Dear Foon,

I was taken aback by Andy's message on Facebook as I read about Fenton. My condloensces on the loss of Jeff. Although I haven't seen you in years both of you were in my heart and I always remember with love the times we spent together in Samoset or my home.

You weren't with Fenton when he came to Los Angeles and he and I ran around like crazy on the streets of Westwood. He was so at home in this college town and he couldn't get enough of it. With his...

Sorry to learn Fenton died. He was a great part of the Sundlun administration and will be missed by all those lucky enough to have known him.

Fenton brought us great entertainment our 4 years at Brown and genuinely cared about our well being. We thank him for sharing his time, humor and wit with us. Rick Heimbach '75 Brown

Steve: I just learned of Jeffs recent passing, and would extend our deepest sympathy on behalf of Joanne and myself. We go back a very long way and although I had not seen Jeff for quite a while I will always remember his warm smile and really sweet personality. I share your sense of loss. shelly summer

I last ran into Ferton at the corner of Brown and George streets in late September. We hadn't seen each other in a few years and spent 20 minutes talking about guerilla marketing techniques and listening to Fenton stories.

Fenton was truly an icon on Thayer street and he was always ready for a chat, or to catch up on the latest news.
As john Bennett said "Fenton was a great character, he was warm, almost always with a smile and would brighten your day".

Tom Cookman...

Fenton, the Icon, as he was know to many. He was truly a Thayer Street fixture and his stories that he shared will be missed. But like all icons, you will not forgotten.

Jeffrey will be missed. Humility, intelligent, warm in demeanor, and great conversationalist. Wonderful memories, my tenant at College Hill Travel for 25 years, took care of my travel arrangements for my honeymoon 20 years ago, and saw him last month full of energy. My sympathy to his entire family. Kenneth Dulgarian, Rhode Island

Fenton was a true fixture of and friend to the Brown / Providence community. Thayer St will not be the same without him.
